For most of us, moving away from home for the first time came with a big assist from our families, whether it was money to get that first apartment or the gift of old furniture and dishes. Our families also gave us the know-how to make it on our own, skills we may take for granted: How to cook a meal, do laundry, balance a checkbook or dress for a job interview. This is where community mentors can help. Leaphart Place is accepting applications from adults willing to pass along these simple but valuable life lessons to someone just starting out. Leaphart Place provides its residents with that sense of security and home with a caring eye to keep them on the right track.
